Vladimir Fateev

Vladimir Fateev (master degree in Chemistry of Lomonosov Moscow State University in 1974, Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry in 1980, Professor in Physical Chemistry in 1997) is Director of Hydrogen Energy and Plasma Technology Institute of RRC "Kurchatov institute". His major interests are addressed to hydrogen energy and fuel cells for renewable energy including nanotechnologies and nanomaterials applied in these fields and especially nanostructured catalysts and membranes.

He is Head of Electrochemical section of Council on Methods of Direct Energy Conversion Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), Head of Fuel Cell section of Council on Electrochemistry (RAS), Member of Working Party on Electrochemical Engineering of European Federation of Chemical Engineering. He has been a lecturer in the Russian Chemical-Technical University (Moscow) and at present time is a lecturer (professor) at the Moscow Power Engineering Institute (Technical University).

His research covers areas of catalysts, electrocatalysis, polymer electrolyte and porous membranes, plasma technologies for catalyst compositions and protecting layers production. His main scientific results range from theoretical analysis of processes in catalyst layers for fuel cells and electrolyzers to the preparation and characterization of catalysts and membranes and development of electrochemical devises based on such materials.

The results of his activity have been published in approximately 200 articles, chapters to books and in a score of patents.
