Gorno-Altaisk State University (GASU) is a public university in Gorno-Altaisk (Altai Republic) of Russian Federation. It was founded in 1949 as a Teacher’s Training Institute. In 1993 Gorno-Altaisk Pedagogical Institute was merged with Agricultural College and received the status of state university. The current number of students is around 5500.
